    DOLPHIN ENCOUNTERS DOLPHIN CAT

    Come aboard the “Dolphin Cat” and travel into the pristine waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy watching our local Key West dolphins swim, play, and feed in their natural habitat.

    Our boat is currently part of an exciting conservation program called “Dolphin S.M.A.R.T.” This program was put together by many conservation agencies including NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuary, National Marine Fisheries Service, as well as the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society. During your trip our knowledgeable and experienced crew will offer facts and research information as you responsibly view some of our estimated 200 resident bottlenose dolphins. Then we head off to one of the many unique snorkel locations in the Key West National Wildlife Refuge. It is the third oldest wildlife refuge in the U.S. and was created in 1908 by Teddy Roosevelt. These “back country” shallow waters are home to a variety of sponges, coral, and tropical fish. Our experienced crew can teach even a novice how to snorkel and have extensive knowledge of the amazing wildlife.

FLATS FISHING

Some of the best fishing in the Florida Keys can be found in Key West, heading into the fall and winter months, permit and bonefish still roam the flats during the warm days, but as the water temps start to slowly come back down these fish will become more aggressive. There are still a few kept secrets about the fishing here in the Keys. One of them is the abundance of bonefish and permit available on the flats throughout the late summer and fall months. The tides will also sometimes give us the opportunity to wade for tailing fish as we watch the sun dip below the horizon.


SPORTFISHING

If you come to Key West Florida don't pass up the opportunity of a lifetime to fish a world class fishing destination. Dolphin are being caught off Key West that top the scales at 50- pounds, plus there are plenty of 20- pound fish and some schoolie dolphin for the taking.

Trolling the deeper wrecks can produce some blackfin tuna, king mackerel and wahoo. A variety of charter boats offer half day and all day fishing excursions.
